“Pieces of you” is a collaboration between Mutual Attraction and Mr Pigeons. Mr Pigeons discovered Mutual Attraction through his breakout hit Lost Tape released in 2015, and Mutual attraction discovered Pigeons through his most recent album ‘Blue Heron’. With a mutual respect for each other’s work they came together to create ‘Pieces of you’. The song is about love, connection and its cyclical nature. We separate as human beings to come together again, just as the planets do, love is the glue and there’s no true intention without the force of love.
Mutual Attraction is the mysteriously evoked moniker from a musicologist, jazz enthusiast, fledgling pianist, dj and producer Piotr Baranowski. Born and raised in Warsaw, began buying records from an early age, and was influenced by the London scene when he moved there in early 2005. His taste for high vibration music led him to discover jazz rhythms, afro-latin, funk, disco, house and techno from South and Central America, UK, Brazil, Japan, and beyond. Today, his selection is a mixture of joyful and obscure gems ranging from jazz to techno, alongside an assortment of rarities from sunnier, far-off places. These numerous experiences and time spent studying, listening, composing and producing his own music led him to release on Nous Disques, Shall Not Fade and Get The Balance Right!
Mr Pigeons is a performer, rapper and poet that draws mantra-like hooks with eccentric nonlinear flows. The Zimbabwean MC’s style is influenced by the late buddhist rapper Maxi Jazz and MF DOOM. His music is spiritual, introspective and ancestral, characterised by experimental elements and abstract lyrics. While performing his energy is energetic and at times you may find yourself in a trance, very deep to the core.
