mau from nowhere’s Notes on New Single + Visuals, ‘I Like’

mau from nowhere writes a note on his new single + visuals, ‘I like‘ to intimate his fans and listeners on his feelings surrounding the creation of the song:

I Like is a song about the early stages of falling in love. Those moments where butterflies are swarming in your stomach and excitement is kicking fear’s ass. I really loved making this song because it was simple, and while usually I’m over analyzing a lot of what I’m feeling and what’s around me when I write lyrics, this time everything came out in a light and easy way. The beat was also a shift for me – more upbeat and vibrant and a bit silly. I remember making the whole thing one morning and it felt so seamless the way my ideas translated into the drums and melody. With the video we wanted to do something similar. Working with Tyse Visuals, we went about creating a dreamlike sequence that reflects the lightness and magic of early love.
