Tofa Jaxx, a Tanzanian singer/songwritter, has written, recorded, and performed a soundtrack. It is for a Tanzanian action film called “Nyara – The Kidnapping”. The film is now showing in cinemas in the whole of East African territory. Also, it will be showcased at the Zanzibar Film Festival next month.
The singer expressed his joy and passion for the opportunity while speaking about it.
‘This great opportunity also came with so much pressure after I was only given two days to write and perform the song on top of an already made instrumental by producer Harry GB’.
The writing process for Tofa Jaxx seemed to be seamlessly easy and fun filled, thanks to his ways of sourcing inspirational stories from his life. If you listen, you would notice that Tofa channels the person he foresees for himself . He is a trailblazer, and his main character in this song is “A figure that’s changing the game”. He says drawing inspiration from personal experiences helps him come up with lyrics and feel it. Eventually, He invited his friend Vincent Maganga to add some more keys.
