Fashion Killa and A1 represents the transition of ‘lust at first sight’ to ‘the love of my life’. Yellow Pages showcases a moment of sadness where LE RU stands up for every woman that has ever been broken by a man where she calls out the Man for all of their shared indiscretions.
Jaded drops the ball on betrayal. Le Ru pulls on the heartstrings of her audience with words filled with pain, resentment and fear of the unknown, all while questioning the kind of love her man is used to. “Ignorance is Bliss” perfectly describes the denial that Bliss featuring Taio represents. Le Ru is in a dance with the past, present and future but she will eventually have to decide what is best for her. With a fresher mindset attached to it, New Flex represents a new day, a breath of fresh air, self discovery and hopefully self love and growth.
ABOUT LE RU
Le Ru is a singer, songwriter and creative director from Nairobi Kenya. She loves to describe herself as a Sweet and Spicy Hummingbird for she finds freedom in her expression of self through Music and Art. Her sound can be described as Afro jazz/soul but she mixes it up with an alternative trap.
Le Ru is greatly influenced by Artists such as Erykah Badu, Lauren Hill and Amy Whinehouse.
The rising Artist first got recognition with her debut single ”Why” produced by popular beat maker and Artist Blinky Bill. After that, She went on to collaborate and perform with other artists from Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria; Spicy SZN being one of her hottest collaborations where she featured on Kenyan rapper’s Valerie Muthoni’s track alongside Taio.
LE RU recently released a series of singles: Her spicy single Pull Up The sultry Forbidden Fruit , The timeless Omi in collaboration with Ayoinmotion and a breathtaking Short Film with music from her Hey There EP.
