It is a new day for African artists, and we are just as excited about it as you are. Only a few days into the new week, the Music Business Academy for Africa (MBA) announced a partnership with The Orchard for young African music talents. This unquestionably extends their vision for African talent and its optimal development.
We at New Century Inc., a young team of music industry enthusiasts, do not want you to miss out on any important details, which is why we have written this article for you. Read and consider what follows.
The Music Business Academy for Africa (MBA) announced the opening of applications for their 2022 music talent programme on Instagram on August 18, 2022. Artists from six African countries are eligible to apply for this open call. Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa will be among the countries whose talents will be showcased on this promising platform.
The programme is primarily geared toward raw, unsigned artists from the featured countries. You can also use any style, genre, or theme of music to get your art on the global music radar. All they ask is that any musician who applies do the following:
- Be a resident of Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, or Nigeria
- Be between the ages of 17 and 30
- Not managed or “signed” by any record label, music distribution brand, or talent management brand.
Fortunately, there are seven slots available for exceptional and unique artists to emerge as winners, with the winners being inducted into the grooming process. The Orchard would fund all music development and production, as well as song releases, for all seven winning applicants at the same time.
