Mwami’s ‘Boy Scout’ Is A Wes Anderson Inspired Afro House Fever Dream

Mwami’s song, ‘Boy Scout’ is inspired by the 2012 feature film “moonrise kingdom” dir. by Wes Anderson. the song’s lyrics tell the story of a love interest whose family doesn’t think much of the protagonist, who subsequently pitches himself as an upstanding ‘Boy Scout’.

Weaving through themes of escape, coming of age, and fleeting love against stacked odds, the song features Ugandan artists tai dai and Lagum The Rapper with production from polish sound designer / content destroyer @ys and additional contributions from mwami, juhggy and Chxf Barry. This eclectic lineup provides a dynamic range of sonic influences that borrow from rap, house, electropop and disco. It is the fourth single off of his forthcoming album ‘Olympean’ out later this year.
