Moyosola Olowokure Fuses Rap and Poetry on New Single “We Will Not Stop”

Nigerian poet and recording artiste, Moyosola Olowokure has just released her sophomore single, “We Will Not Stop”. It is an upbeat change of pace from the melancholy on her debut single, “Sex is a Kind of Death (SIAKOD)” but is just as riveting. As the title reflects, We Will Not Stop is a bold declaration of faith and fortitude in the face of difficulty.

An interesting feature about the poet’s second release is that on it,  we hear Moyosola sing for the first time, and she does so beautifully. The sun-kissed poet has always been big on family and artistic collaboration. This shines through in another interesting feature; lyricist and rapper, Tobolos (who also happens to be her brother). Both poetic and rap verses invite listeners to reflect on the transient nature of life and humanity’s role in creation.

Just like SIAKOD, We Will Not Stop leads up to an undiluted cry of affection for the one who matters most. The spoken word, riveting rap, and foot-stomping choir create a cadence so simple yet so transformative.

This song is a bubbly induction of the never-give-up spirit that births unity and freedom; making it a timeless anthem to be heard on the lips of generations to come.
