The EP Last Songs About you (L.A.Y) is Garey Godson’s 5th studio project is a 3-track Afro RnB project by Garey Godson. A fresh and unique approach is employed in the tracklisting of the project as the title is reflected in each track with track one titled as Last songs, followed by track 2 About & the final record You with Rookie Sbk which is the only feature on the project.
Garey says
“I wanted to do something cohesive and memorable, I came up with the idea to make a 3 track EP which was a palette of real time emotions as I experienced them. This project was recorded at a time when I was theraparizing through my music, that’s why vulnerability is seen through every song. L.A.Y showcases the different layers of emotions after a break-up and is dedicated to all healing hearts. I hope that people who listen to this project are able to draw strength from it”.
On track 3 Rookie Sbk who is the only featured artist on the project leads the track “you” through his melancholic yet melodic vibe.
Garey mentions “I have known Rookie for several years now and was opportuned to engineer one of his early studio sessions. Watching him emerging and developing his own distinctive sound is really inspiring”. He drove the inspiration behind “You” and I just followed.
