The making of Dark or Durban 2 was a three-month creative whirlwind. Recorded at Funko Media’s studio in Durban, the project features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Sir Trill, Zee Nxumalo, Maline Aura, Argento Dust, Skillz, Sino Msolo, and Sykes. The EP also pays homage to Durban’s festive spirit, capturing both its soulful essence and high-energy celebrations. Standout tracks like ‘Umaphaboloba‘ bring legendary energy to life, while the instrumental ‘Durban Funk‘ is destined to dominate dancefloors worldwide.
“Dark or Durban 2 continues the story of my previous work, but this time, the themes are different. It’s all about the moments we share in Durban, from the fun and carefree to the deep and meaningful,” Funky Qla shares. “This EP was designed to make people dance, laugh, and connect.”
