British Alternative Artist Mau From Nowhere Returns With Smooth, Pensive R&B Track “s_t_l”, From Upcoming Album

“s_t_l”  is about letting go of people (and the difficulty of doing so). The song was written in that liminal space where you recognize that you and this person need to follow your own paths but there still lingers a deep love and yearning for what you shared – and all the fears and insecurities that come with it.

“The first part of the song is trying to reckon with letting go and whether this feeling will ever leave – asking myself the question “am I still waiting for you?”. The second half is more of a retrospective approach, tracing the relationship with a new lens and being able to recognize the unanswered questions and lingering issues that led to its demise. After I had recorded I knew it was missing something and when Maya came to the studio and recorded over the chorus and 2nd verse it felt a lot more delicate and came to life in this beautifully intimate and conversational way”, Mau from nowhere says.
