Independent Artists M. Rumbi and Nawekulo Collaborate on Upbeat Love Song “Chasing Love”

Multi-talented musicians M. Rumbi and Nawekulo are excited to announce the release of their latest single “Chasing Love”, now available on all major music platforms.

“Chasing Love” is an afro-pop track with strong indie influences, featuring upbeat rhythms and catchy melodies. M. Rumbi, who is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, collaborated with Nairobi-based singer-songwriter Nawekulo for the vocals.

“I had just finished working on my track ‘Dear Darling’ and wanted to see if I could write something in the same vein – a happy, upbeat love song,” said M. Rumbi. “With ‘Chasing Love,’ I was definitely feeling R&B with the guitar, and for the drums, I looked towards an Afro-feel. After that, everything fell into place.”

This is M. Rumbi’s 5th release of the year and is part of his year-long plan to drop a song every two weeks. He cites a range of musical influences, including Lianne La Havas, Frank Ocean, Khurangbin, and Jordan Rakei, to name a few.

Nawekulo, who is a frequent collaborator with M. Rumbi, recently dropped an EP titled “R.A.T.E (Rough Around The Edges).” She is influenced by artists like Emily King, Lianne la Havas, Sauti Sol, Adele, ABBA, among others.

“Chasing Love” is a testament to M. Rumbi and Nawekulo’s creative collaboration and versatility as artists. The song feels different from their previous work, but still captures their signature style.
